The results of Spinal Decompression therapy when obtained through use of an LCD (Lumbar Cervical Decompression) therapy table at the level of Inter-vertebral Disc is thought to be the relief of external pressure on the disc.
This in turn creates a negative pressure within the disc. The inter-discal negative pressure reduces the size of the disc by changing the herniated bulge and thereby relieving the nerve pressure and pain associated with the bulge. The effects of Spinal Decompression process were studied and reported in the Journal of Neurosurgery.
Published results reported an indication of axial decompression resulting in inter-discal pressure reversal with negative levels in the range of -100 160 mm Hg.
